Your next step starts here.
Protecting your next step.
After a crash or a fall, your health comes first. These practical starting points can help you organize the next conversation.
AFTER A CRASH
Stop at the scene. Call 911 when someone is injured or there is an emergency. Follow responders’ instructions. When safe, record the people and vehicles involved, witness details, photographs, and the report number.
AFTER A FALL
Do not rush to get up. If you are injured or cannot get up safely, seek help. When safe, photograph the location and the condition involved. Tell the property manager what happened and ask how to obtain the incident report.
KEEP A SIMPLE RECORD
Keep medical paperwork, bills, receipts, photographs, messages, and notes about how the injury affects your daily life. Preserve original files. Do not put yourself at risk collecting evidence.
HEALTH QUESTIONS
A website cannot assess your injuries. Seek professional medical care. Head-injury symptoms may appear hours or days later; follow your clinician’s instructions and seek urgent help for danger signs.
